So all the ENGOs helping politicians run their campaigns - are your politicians gonna come stand with Burnaby mountain caretakers facing an injunction tomorrow? Without any formal support from the Enviro movement these brave and committed folks have been maintaining camp for months, through rain, through cold, days with minimal supplies but massive hearts. And now in the past two weeks with an injunction looming, again without large NGOs an all-volunteer crew of supporters is organizing solidarity actions, media support, community meetings, legal and jail support. Thousands of individual donors have and continue to throw down for a legal defence fund. To be clear i am not pissed nor pointing fingers - just reminded yet again that community resistance is in the streets, not halls of power, and movement organizers will try to have your back when funded bureaucracies dont.
