So, all the digestive distress has passed. Im just waiting on the doctors to make rounds and assess. There was talk of sending a pain management specialist for the pressure one tumor is placing on the sciatic nerve. Theres also the rock star orthopedic oncologist who belies he can safely excise that one, and the chemo rock star who assures me he can lengthen and improve the quality of my life with genetically targeted therapies specifically designed to treat my particular cancer... But I may get to go home today and just come back during the week for my port insertion surgery and, later next week, the first infusion of targeted therapies. I suppose it might be a good idea to just keep me another night and do the port insertion tomorrow. Then I could come back for chemo on Thursday... Or maybe they could just do it Monday after the insertion... Save me a trip. Im hopeful that the doctors make their rounds while Im alert enough to ask the proper questions.
