So, all this started when Dad was suppose to have a leg procedure done and that was cancelled because he had a persistent sore throat which turned out to be a stone clogging a saliva duct. A procedure was scheduled to remedy that and IT was cancelled because he had a severe back pain flare up and literally couldnt move which turned out to be a compressed disc and scar tissue touching a nerve in his spine. Back surgery was scheduled to fix THAT and in the pre-op certifications with his cardiologist this week it was discovered that his WidowMaker is possibly clogged again. So, the back surgery was cancelled to do a heart cath today to deal with the WidowMaker issue. The heart cath was cancelled due to unexplained stomach pain because his current pain could mask complications of the heart cath (if he had them). In the process of testing today they found the reason for his unexplained stomach pain is an infection from his diverticulitis and the kidney infection that his general Dr. has been treating with antibiotics for MONTHS is actually kidney stones. More tests to come. (Guess who is getting a new general doctor?! This is the second misdiagnosis. Aint waiting for a third. I only have one Dad!) They are keeping him for 1-2 days for a liquid diet and IV antibiotics to deal with the diverticulitis issue. Then we go from there, I guess. What a long day.
