So, along with it snowing again, here in Chicago, it was also Presidents Day (not just in Chicago, but all over this fair nation of ours), and my Republican cat, Gingy used it as an opportunity to go door-to-door singing the praises of one Jon Cryer, the long suffering, least crazy, rightwing actor from the Two And A Half Men sitcom franchise. My crazy cats thinking was that Jon Cryer (with a little grooming, and presumably not the kind of grooming Gingy gives himself) could be the next Ronald Reagan. And I laughed and laughed and then threw up a little in my mouth, which is my bodys way of telling my mind not to be too cocky or arrogant or stupid. In 1968, who would have guessed that C-list actor and narrator of Boraxs Wagon Train, RR, would end up the Commander-and-Chief? As of now I dont think Gingy (or Jon Cryer for that matter) has the money that the vast rightwing conspiracy threw behind Bedtime For Bonzo, but crazier things have happened. A great, great way to order a Rude Awakening Salad with the smart ass dressing on the side--is to count your Hillarys before theyre hatched. As the page turns, and the pendulum swings, and the revenge cools--its important to stay awake and aware and jealously guard the advances weve made. We cant afford to be Bush-whacked again.
