So, although Im not famous, I do have some famous friends through whom I live vicariously... the illustrious, super-sweet Paul Livingston, guitarist of the incredible Scottish band The trashcan sinatras, is one of those friends. I met Paul through his wife, actress Joyanna Crouse Livingston, who played the female lead in my film Alms, You Say (2007) when the film first played in Los Angeles in 2009. We hung last year after Yes, Your Tide is Cold and Dark, Sir. played at the AFM, devouring Indian food into the wee hours and killing some pints at the Kings Head in Santa Monica thereafter. Paul is one of the most genteel and gallant individuals Ive ever met. Yesterday was Pauls birthday, and I have to honor that by playing a Sinatras video here... so as to share some of his amazing work with those unfamiliar. This track, Weightlifting, absolutely destroys my heart with What Women Do To Men running a close second. Happy Birthday, Paul! Everybody else... grab a lover... and go to town... bliss out.
