So amid many blessings this weekend, I had the opportunity to spend some 1:1 time with my young son Joseph, the last two evenings. Parents who have multiple kids close in age know how precious this time is... Last night we rode bikes around the block and then shot some hoops and played some tee-ball. This evening we swam in the pool and tried to keep cool. Joe is three years old, with all that entails. He is a sponge. He notices everything. He giggles as he rides his bike through the path of a badly aimed lawn sprinkler, he marvels at the ants, and the butterflies, and all that is around him. He loves to blow bubbles in the water and play sports, though he shows no particular skill. In short he is a lot like his Daddy. I only hope he enjoyed our time together half as much as I did. These are the memories I will hold close, when he is a surly teenager who slams the door to his room in my face. :-) #luckydad #specialtimes
