So another British Championships is at an end! Im sitting here in Nottingham watching the rain fall on what was an incredible weekend for British Bodybuilding. Who said bodybuilding was dying out?!?! Probably the deepest field of competitors I have ever witnessed as the standard gets better and better. So my thoughts? Well I didnt see all the classes as I was running all over the place BUT I did see some classes. Bikini - as much as I disagree with some of the poses which make the girls look cheap, I like the class. Those that say bikini girls dont train and train hard, are disillusioned. Im no judge but I say as I see it. The girls were beautiful and should be incredibly proud. However, the classes are just too big. Some of the girls just werent of a British standard. The winners of the qualifiers should get an invite if of a high enough calibre BUT those others that perhaps get second and third should get an invite to a novice finals that maybe held before the Finals. Then those who win get their ticket to the finals as an incentive. The same with mens physique. Too many guys, some that just shouldnt be up there. Do what NABBA do and have a beginners and novice finals that way not the best of the best get the British proper There has been controversy about whether the overall bikini and mens physique should get a pro card. My take? YES!!!! These guys are doing better internationally than our bodybuilders so its fully deserved! As for the whole British Citizenship, thats a whole new debate!!!! Womens Physique - basically is just another name for womens bodybuilding. Thats how I see it. However the ladies looked incredible!!! The winner was jaw dropping. The condition on her was almost unparalleled within the womens and mens classes. Thats a girl thats gone to some horrible dark places to achieve an incredible package! Body fitness - wow, this class has become so strong since its inception 5 or so years ago. There were some stunning girls on show, absolutely beautiful and the overall winner was simple exquisite
