So....another GOVERNMENT story. I have a paypal account. I use the account almost exclusively for my work with the shelter. We pay vet bills out of it and we send sponsorship money to rescues, etc. Occasionally, someone sends me a check to help out with our bills. So, I deposit the check in my checking account and then transfer the funds to the paypal account. I received a notice from paypal that I was no longer allowed to send money TO my paypal account from my checking account without contacting them to verify my information. I called today and the first words out of the 3rd person to whom I was transferred were this: NEW GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS, which went into effect in January, now make us ensure we have your name, address, social security, credit card and bank account. My response??? Hmmmm....so I have to call, sit on hold, be transferred three times to make sure you have information you already have?....her response yes...I know it makes no sense but...I stopped her there and said Say no more...when you said NEW GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS - the three most feared words in the English language - I knew it was going to be something completely stupid and I was right. In the twilight of my life, I love spending 30 - 45 minutes on BULLSHIT that some pencil pusher reporting to an empty suit did to make my already complicated and busy life even more complicated and busy. BUT...THE GOOD NEWS IS I GOT THIS EMAIL FROM PAYPAL: Our review is complete and we have returned your account to regular standing. One more bullet dodged on the long road to liberty!!
