So anyway.....as much as I like stirring up shit, and posting things that encourage people to think outside the narrow confines of this bubble we live in, sharing my own life experiences, and hopefully offering some semblance of helpful insight on a variety of issues, Im going to have to take a break for a while. Maybe longer. I lost my Mom less than a week ago, and thats something I need to deal with. When someone youve known for 60 years is gone, theres a huge void that needs to be filled, and Flin Flon Post It isnt cutting it for me. Ive made some wonderful friends here and have learned much from them. You know who you are. Weve already friended each other. I thank those people for their maturity, self-respect, respect for others, for their wisdom, knowledge, intelligence, decency, kindness, and humor. What I dont need to be part of is a forum where hatred, jealousy, racism, misogyny and ignorance simmers beneath the surface like a pot near boiling. What I need to do is to surround myself with friends. Enlightened, open minded, forward thinking, compassionate friends. I get that I cant agree with everyone on every topic, nor would I expect to. I get that peoples values differ, and I get that we are a diverse population who for the major part really understands little about each other. That can change. Read books. Open your mind. Most of all, I encourage everyone to do something good for your neighbor tomorrow. But keep it to yourself. Thats the hard part. Namaste.
