So apparently I am supposed to NOT be upset that Obama saluted with a cup in his hand. I should be upset that Bush tried to salute while holding a dog and further upset that a WWII vet began this saluting tradition when President. I suppose I should also point my finger at all those vets who saluted the flag in violation of law prior to its change in 2009. Those hooligans! And then and and only then would I be permitted to criticize saluting with coffee. To do otherwise would be uncharitable. But I prefer that my charity remain with the vet who started this dastardly practice of Presidents saluting the troops at all. Because saluting properly even if it is not protocol is rather a most awesome and patriotic thing.
