So apparently one of the movies that my class is studying in MPR is the Disney film Pocahontas, a.k.a. Pocahontass Booty. If you havent seen it, basically its about the same love-story tripe Disney pushes out, with an American Indian and an Englishman pashing. Also, for some reason, Billy Connolly joins him. Additionally, theres an xenophobic hummingbird voiced by Frank Welker, a.k.a. Lord Nibbler. Im not shitting you, the guy who voices Scooby Doo and Freddy Jones voices a hummingbird. Srsly. Im thinking of writing my review on the film from a gendered perspective, focusing on feminist values. As an added bonus, Im going to write it from the perspective of a Tumblr feminist. Ill sprinkle in some terms like androcentism, cis, gender binary, and so on. Shits gonna be so cash.
