So, as Im talking to one of the neighborhood folks today, reminding him that our bushes arent urinals, the plight of the homeless is again thrust into my consciousness. How difficult it must be to exist this way. How can people so lost to their addictions (at least thats the reality with the folks Im in contact with on a daily basis) be helped when they dont seem to want the help thats available? I believe the answer is to show love to these folks in a way that they would desire change in their own lives, and would then submit to that change. but how is it possible to show love to people who abuse you and your property on a regular basis without repentance for a period long enough to develop a relationship that shows them a different way? I struggle against becoming that guy who constantly chases away souls that God loves for my convenience.
