So, as I’ll be leaving the game in a little under 2 months (did I mention “Yippee”?), I want to remember the good, the bad and the ugly of our FIFO life. What is your FIFO “Pet Hate”? It can be at home or on site but must be FIFO related. Mine would have to be the inconsiderate bastards that take your WET clothes out of the tumble-dryer so that they can put theirs in, leaving yours in a creased and crumpled mess on the dusty floor of the laundry! I also won’t miss the absolute HORROR of realising that you’ve lost or misplaced a pair of underwear between your room and the laundry and the stress that follows over the next few days as you wait to see them hanging from a flag pole or on display in one of your colleague’s donga windows! I’ve also had the odd pair “stolen” from the laundry however it must be a twisted mind that would want my Bridget Jones’ granny panties so good luck to them I say! Ha ha. I also hate FIFO stereotypes – The fact that ALL cleaners are labelled Whores. Erm… Grow up!! We’re not in high school any more. I also hate the perception of FIFO’s by those not in the business. “Oh, you must be loaded… buy me a drink?” Erm… No! Lol. What is yours? - FIFO Girl -
