So as a crew of us were soaking up the truth about the resurrection we began to chop it up about some implications. We took note of the need for Jesus to open the minds of ppl to truly believe that He is a risen Lord! We need a mind from Christ to rightly perceive Christ; and that mind of Christ is given to spread Christ. He gives a mind that can believe and value a core truth--the fact that Scripture is all about Him (Lk 24:45). Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead... It doesnt stop there--...and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all nations... These two things are connected--what weve come to believe is what weve come to proclaim! I remember when this was the first order of business. It was a priority that marked a people. Today--not so much. Missionality was about using every creative fiber in us to spread the always good, (but not always popular) news that The cross provides repentance and forgiveness of sin in His name. We may be getting too cute w/this thing. If were not careful we could slip into trying to engineer acceptance, likability, and growth, at the expense of rightly responding to the resurrection. The culture is up on spirituality and inner faith but, not the repentance and forgiveness in His name. Im just saying... The resurrection fueled mission, and mission demands proclaiming. Put Jesus in the stream brethren! Pastors, doctors, lawyers, athletes, rappers, and all who believe the resurrection--lets be revived and spread the gospel! Oh for grace to trust and preach. #graceandtruth #graceandpeace
