So, as is always the case with me on my birthday...I pick something that I own of great value and give it away to celebrate the extreme good fortune I have been lucky enough to experience (and live through). I am very happy to announce that during my trip to London in September, I will be awarding a (pre-Meade) original Doublestacked 90mm Coronado Hydrogen Alpha telescope with Isle of Man etalons, Feathertouch focuser upgrade, a BF30 and BF15 blocking filter to one of my favorite astronomy groups in the world-Astronomy For Fun-through their member Mark Townley. This is one of a very small number of these scopes still in existence and retailed for over $14,000(US) originally. I will also be refreshing everyones supplies of solar glasses and doing 2 lectures/outreach appearances over there with the Baker Street Irregulars and AFF! There will also be a very special appearance that I will reveal later....its a surprise. Everyone wins on my birthday. After all, my mother did all the work, so I celebrate by helping others. It is my intent that this scope be used in outreach events and for imaging purposes by Mark, Gary and the AFF group whenever it is needed and will be managed by the CBSAP UK Director Mark Townley. Lunt Solar Systems sponsored the entire trip over so they are really the ones making this all happen. Please purchase your solar observing equipment and accessories through this fine company. They provide the best customer service experience this industry has ever seen and I support them fully.
