So as many people know my wife Jada DeLaune Meynardie has had a pretty rough couple of months. Here is a little back story and update. She has been living with Ulcerative Colitis since she was 18-19 years old. This time last year the illness almost did her in after experiencing a serious flare up. She spent nearly two weeks in the hospital. Her doctor put her on a medicine called Humira that can have some pretty serious side effects. The medicine worked. It got her better, but in the mean time she has experienced some of the side effects/reactions you always fear when taking a serious medication such as this. About two months ago she experienced a stroke like event that has left her with numbness in her arms and legs, chronic fatigue and a slightly noticeable speech impediment. After 5+ doctors, specialists and dozens of tests we still really dont have many answers. We are in Houston seeing some of the best GI doctors in the country and will return soon to see a neurologist that hopefully will be able to get to the bottom of what actually happened to her two months ago. She is undergoing some biopsies in the morning to see just what is going on in her digestive tract and to see if there is some other type of medication she can take that will help her get back to a manageable healthy state. Please keep us in your prayers as we are putting this all in Gods hands. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.” Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” (Luke 8:43-48 NIV)
