So as the push up was involved in yesterdays Man Makers, I thought it would be useful to demo proper form. I highly recommend the push up as a staple in your workouts. Mastering the push up will not only improve upper body strength but also core strength and stability. Its awesome. There are different ways to perform it - my way being the best of course. High plank position, hands just outside the shoulders, elbows tucked in, lock your entire body and lower yourself until your chest is just off the ground. Full range of motion. You can say goodbye to bingo wings if you consistently practice push ups. The wider your hands are the more you work your chest. It doesnt interest me as a rather small chested female to work my chest - Id rather focus on creating toned arms for summer so keep those arms CLOSE to your body!!!! If you need to start with your knees on the ground initially go for it. Just get that chest low. They are hard and challenging but once you have it mastered it there are so many variations to it to make it more fun... And challenging!
