So, as you probably all know, Im a bit of a weird character. So of course, I had some weird stories to tell of my adventures here today in New York. The adventure I will select to talk about will be the Tale of the Tall Police where Merima and her friends gain the attention of a police officer on the subway by making zaghrouta and random noises. It all started after soaking in the rain while searching for food in Stratton Island after seeing the Statue of Liberty. After searching, we finally did find some food after a day of not eating and proceeded to happily go to the station with full stomachs and giggling echoes. As we go into the subway, my friend Lilia Hachim says in an odd and flat voice, Wooooo. Hooooo. And so the oddness of how she did it made us laugh very much, although it probably wasnt very funny in the first place and were probably delirious from the hunger and cold. And so I began to tease her and repeat after her,Woooo. Hooooooo. After a while, I add in a Yeeeehawwwww. And the way we would do this is get quiet, and do it in a very low voice with discordant notes. After a while, Lilia added in a marriage chant-thing done in Algeria where women would say yoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoy. We then began this thing where we would go back and forth when my friend Rola Barbakh adds in the zaghrouta and does lililililililili. In all our fun and laughter, we turn our faces to see an officer staring at us as we made these weird noises and we got quiet and turned our faces to the wall. Eventually, one person would be heard saying, Woooo. Hoooo. and then a yoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyo and then Rola decides to add in a new one: Hooo. Hooo (like an owl) and to which I respond with a Tarzan yell. We pretty much die laughing and the police officer glares at us and leaves the subway. The amount of laughter we had probably was the most I had in the day. Lol cheers to weird noises.
