So at 3:30 am I was woken by out fire alarms going off and no one else woke up. There was thick smoke in the hall way...I ripped MJ out of bed and ran around screaming my head off. I flew down the stairs and all I saw was the flickering of flames coming from Nicks room. When I saw it was the space heater on fire I ripped the cord out of the wall and stupidly picked up the heater to get it away from all of MJs games and paper stuff. I ripped the fire extinguisher out of the wall and couldnt get it to work Torrey was right me and threw it to him and then grabbed the kids and rushed them out side.Torrey got the thing to work and put out the rest of the fire. After finally getting the fire alarms shut off and get the smoke out , we found the only injuries were Nick got burnt on his toe nail w/ melted plastic and I burned my hand getting the heater out of the room. Thank all mighty God that we are ok!!!!!We found out the cord had caught on fire.So....the moral of the story is be so very careful w/ those heaters. We took all the precautions ...it was on low and was away from everything....etc.
