So, at risk of being heralded as some Loose Change, grassy knoll conspiracy nut, heres this video. For over an hour, this plane has been circling downtown. This video loop lasts about four minutes, more than enough time for microwave popcorn. Go pop and enjoy. Let the video run. You wont miss anything. I hold on the plane because theres only one frame of reference--the moon--which we see at the beginning and end of the video. I wanna know: Whats that plane doing up there? A couple of weeks ago I called the airport noise line (as my neighbors and I now frequently do) to complain about the noise and frequency of planes overhead, and also asked about a helicopter that had been hovering overhead at very high altitude for long periods of time. When they called back, they told me they couldnt discuss the chopper: it was law enforcement. (BTW, they is a very nice, very harried dude named James, who is the noise complaint guy for Sky Harbor. I wouldnt wish his troubles on a monkey on a rock.) The helicopter is gone, but now heres this plane. I feel like Ray Liotta at the end of Goodfellas. Who can I FOIA about this plane? Whos gonna stir the sauce? Im gonna be just a schmuck ordering Pizza Hut.
