So, awful news. The verdict from Satans castle (aka, Walker hall) is that the Blind mainstream programs are to be cancelled after the Class of 2015 graduates. Im not sure exactly what this means for people who are graduating a year after and doing well through the Spartan High program, but I will say, this sucks! SCSDB is convinced that a diploma from them will be as good as one from SHS. We all know that that isnt true. This isnt fair and it isnt right. In the past year, mainstream students have been unfairly targeted by the administration for this reason. There are actually laws against this, its part of the IEP process. The school is betting on that none of us know that. Its called the LRE: the Least Restrictive Environment. SCSDB actually violates many conditions of the IEP and ADA laws. Tell your parents to go up there and fight. If youre over 18, go up there and fight yourself. They wont listen to anyone under 18, (which is also against the IEP laws, just saying.) Ive researched everything to do with it. There is nothing that is okay about this situation.
