So back to the article on How to..Beat Belly Fat (IDEA Fitness Journal March 2014), heres the next bitt: In order to burn fat there are three things that need to happen: fat release from fat cell, fat has to be transported through the blood stream to a cell for fat burn and finally the fat has to enter the cell where it is going to be used. Because visceral, i.e. deeper fat that lies around organs and under the abdominal muscles (and cant therefore be pinched) has greater blood supply than the other two types of fat (the superficial subcutaneous belly fat and the deep subcutaneous belly fat), this means that it is slower to be stored there and is quicker to be used. The more superficial, subcutaneous fat has less blood supply (along with a few other complex physiological reasons, too detailed to write in this initial posting) and is therefore so stubborn.
