So city council is revisiting their downtown ordinance again. Anyone remember how terribly insulting the phrase America - Love it or leave it was back in the 60s and 70s when it was used by conservatives to shut down our criticism. Well, just seven years ago, in Feb. of 2007 the city council amended an ordinance to restrict bad behavior in city parking lots and parking structures. Back then, Leonie Sherman wrote a complaining letter to the Sentinel ending with her saying, If you want your town super-sterilized, move. Sadly, those are still polarizing shut down words in my book.
