So close yet so far.... We were hoping to get the good news that Chewy would be discharged today but the A team doesnt feel comfortable letting him go yet. His blood level is borderline low so they are going to do another transfusion today. They also want to test the fluid coming out of drain number 1 to be sure there isnt anything abnormal there. If its all good, they are talking about taking that out before we go home. Lastly, he is showing some bacteria in the fluid coming from drain number 2 so they are starting antibiotics for that. Chewy is drowning his sorrow in a Nerds rope (PLEASE God let that stay down!!!) 😳 He will come home with drain number 2 and we get our training session on that today or tomorrow. As frustrated, and ready to get home, as we are, we have to remember that hes lucky to be alive. He has a long road ahead of him but I know he will come out stronger than ever! Stay tuned....
