So day 2s update didnt psst as I only had ten minutes of internet and it took me 11 minutes to write.. Suffice to say it was a great day with the hardest climbing Ive done and thanks to Joan Swain for pushing through it with me. Day three however was the big day 185 km from Manning park to Osoyoos. After a great start with a light over cast to Princeton with some moderate climbing we then began the rolling flats down the keromeos valley for the remaining 120 km. This started off great with some awesome pace line action with the group but by lunch (at 130 km) wed already hit a huge headwind of about 35 kph which made things interesting. After lunch despite my best efforts I got caught up in a pace line going slightly faster than I should have and in the what was now 30 degree heat I hit a wall. First I needed to stop because my lung was seizing up then I completely bonked at the last rest stop at 160 km. Unfortunately I had to make the call to get a ride to the summit of Richter pass (stupid hill) to do the final descent into town. This wad probably a smart thing as I soon realized I had heat stroke and proceeded to throw up a few times (also learned that hamstring cramps while kneeling over the toilet to puke are a thing and they are not enjoyable) hopefully Ill be well enough in the morning to do the anarchist summit, its one of my favorites but first I have to master drinking more than a few sips of water without wanting to throw up again! Wish me luck!
