So day 3 into Dads come back...he is in good spirits and started the basic rehab. (Peg board) his coloring (dark skin) is returning. The speech is improving but he tires easily. He did 1 lap of the ward then decided he could shower on his own which alarmed the nurses. We have told him he cannot shower alone... So he is looking for volunteers :) MRI confirmed stroke in right side of the brain. Someday I will give a rant on my opinion of our free system... But not today. The important thing is Dad has a team of proactive kids that are looking after all of his interests. So today I met with the head nurse (as the doctor dumped Dad without notifying the nurses so we never got a doctors meeting, hopefully the next doctor isnt on a power trip) she was awesome... Completely respected our choice to nourish him thru supplements and only take the meds that are necessary... = no lipitor! :) Meds have their role but they dont nourish... They dont build... They dont repair. This is one battle I dont intend on losing.
