So..during a recent exchange with the neighbors, I used the phrases Blow off some steam and Suckered me into it. These two such expressions....i have never used in my life. So, of course throughout the entirety of my run, I repeated them over and over in my head and became a bit grossed out. The words bounced and echoed, slowly slurring and sounding more southern...and then louder...like Rachel Ray and Rascal Flats were cast in a bad musical...and practicing their harmonies in a motel bathroom. To stop the corrosive circus in my head, I began to analyze why i said what i did... 1)I am getting old, I thought! It must come with age... 2)I have spent far too much time as a server... 3)I believe myself so weird and strange, that i feel the need to utilize conventional phrases in order to properly express myself. the worst thing about it was realizing that I was totally fabricating the whole thing. I was not blowing off steam though i told them i was...nor was i suckered into anything oh wait..the worst thing was slapping my knee when the three of us started laughing about something that was not funny
