March 8 – Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, a Boeing 777-200ER en route from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Beijing Capital International Airport with 239 people on board, disappears from radar over the Gulf of Thailand about 40 minutes into the flight. Now, today: March 13 - US Airways Flight 1702, an Airbus A320 en route from Philadelphia, blew a tire while taking off and prompt it to abruptly come to a stop.
