So far.... Didnt get much of a feel for Dublin. I was originally supposed to be there a day and a half, but that was shortened to not even a day. No big, when I get back on Thursday Ill have 3 full days...which is great. Now I might get to go to Glendalough. Dublin is expensive to say the least. If I had a choice Id stay in Prague until the last minute. This city is such a stark contrast to the grays and browns of Dublin. Every building is unique, colorful, and full of whimsy. The Czech love their architecture, rather than constructing some stodgy edifice that just begs the smog to cling to it, their buildings are decorated in murals, fantastical art noveux, and it shows in their character and personality. The Dubliners didnt make eye contact, here...a warm greeting of Dobry Den and a sincere farewell of Nasklé awaits in every cafe, restaurant, and tourist site. The most interesting day was yesterday. My hostel hosts Pragues #1 Segway tour. Apparently a few days ago the Russians moved into the area and are now trying to take over the biz. I was standing outside with Paul, the hostel manager, smoking a cigarette, and we watched as the Italian who is in charge of the tours got into it with a Russian on a Segway. My Italian isnt great, but I understood some. Paul confirmed that they were threatening to kill each other. The Russians...they are pigs. He said. And their women the cows. Indeed.
