So far, according to the DOD, the Army National Guard and Army Reserve has accounted for nearly 45% of the total number of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I personally can verify that, active duty battalions are often assigned National Guard Companies and NG battalion commands are often given active companies overseas. Deployment is almost a certainty for any reservist/guardsman unless there are immediate wide-ranging troop reductions. Many have deployed more than once.
