So far, so good with radiation and chemo today. It was a long and exhausting day, but overall it wasnt too bad. The only issue is tonight Waylon has complained of his head hurting. He said it felt like the dragon was hitting and biting him. I pray that things dont get worse as the treatment progresses. I met a mom today whose 5 year old son was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer on Christmas Day. The prognosis is not good and as anyone can imagine, she and her husband are not handling the news well. It was absolutely heartbreaking to talk with her as I tried to comfort her as much as I could, while reassuring her that sons oncologist is amazing. The cancer world is harsh and I struggled to find the right words. Please pray for this family as they adjust to their new world; their new reality; pediatric cancer. Please also pray that their son is kept free from the pain he is experiencing and the doctors are able to find a treatment that will provide encouraging results. Thank you for setting up a meal calendar and for everyone volunteering as our days at the hospital are long with unknown side effects of radiation. We are extremely appreciative and cannot thank you enough!
