So, figured Id get some thoughts down before someone else made me - TopicsExpress

So, figured Id get some thoughts down before someone else made me cry today; but what an uplifting day it was! Had to work, so didnt get here until just before 3. Jaime was already outside on the patio in her chair, enjoying the fresh air. Charle Shoppee Clark and Philip Akstin keeping her company. In a few minutes she will be interviewed, on camera, by Jennifer Vaughn from WMUR, our local tv news station! How exciting. It turns out Jen has mutual friends, and picked up on the #CarnucciStrong vibe spreading through Hooksett. She reached out and asked if wed like to share our story, and show off how great our community has been thru our ordeal. She spent time with each of us, then went to our neighborhood to see it firsthand. Thank you Jennifer. We got back to her room and she had 3 more sets of visitors, they had to wait in line to see her (shes such a diva). We got our first #CarnucciStrong shirts today! So surreal. We got to play with the text-o-nator, thank you Tracey Cronin Bolduc!! She will def put that to use. There was another heartfelt goodbye and tears shed as we said bye to one of the nurses whos going on vacation tomm and wont be taking care of Jaime anymore. Again, Im floored with how quickly a stranger becomes so attached to her after only a week. I mean for me, it was her great butt, but shes been lying down all week so it must be something else. And then, just a few minutes ago, I was again brought to tears by another stranger. I didnt ask if I could share her story so I wont mention her name. But this person and I have never met. Shes been following along thru a mutual friend and tonite told me about her tragic accident in which two of her vertebrae were fractured. Much like Jaime, she was in great shape when it happened, and much like Jaime, she lost her functions in the accident. The story is about the months she spent rehabbing and rebuilding herself. The conversations she had with doctors who told her that her running days are behind her. And most importantly, its about how she didnt listen, and 6 months after her accident she ran a 15k, and 8 months after a 50 mile bike ride, and how next month she has a triathlon scheduled. Never give up! she says. How inspiring and perfectly timed as we get ready to transition to rehab. Thank you SO much for sharing that story. Im going to sleep tonite (assuming Jaime stops snoring) with a smile on my face. Shes got this. Rehab wont know what hit em. Thanks for taking the time. #CarnucciStrong
