So, first off, rap is an element of hip-hop; as in rap = hip-hop music. They arent different genres of music. Secondly, if you dont consider hip-hop real music, youre a cunt. I like rock and metal as much as the next guy, but shove that superiority complex up your ass. Hip-hop is a deep genre full of talented artists. Just because youre too lazy or bigoted to learn about the culture, doesnt give you the right to label it fake. Rap is a lot more than talking to a beat. And the only reason people say I cant understand what theyre saying, its gibberish is because they dont WANT to understand. Most rappers speak plainly, and many are very precise with their lyrics. The sad fact is that most white people who hate rap only hate it because of its color. They want it to be ignorant ape music so thats what they translate it into when they hear it. And yes, a few people I know come to mind while I type this, but the inspiration to type it came from one of those stupid memes that goes like 95% of people listen to FAKE music - rap, re-post if youre one of the 5% that listens to REAL music - rock!
