So first off, what a loverly surprise for this lovely sixteenth of December. I opened up to my ever-growing Youtube suggestions list and found this. For those of you who dont know, Alex Rybak has long held a special place in my heart. Discovering a new song of his (especially one in a more well known film franchise) was a delightful surprise. I cherish it. Content-wise, I feel like this song is from Dyl and I very much appreciate it. But it reminds me of what I wanted to say. Today, I was working on filing the two hundred plus cards that we received at Dyls passing into a Memory book. It was a lot of work, and I dont think alphabetizing is my thing career-wise, although I appreciate all those who find the work fulfilling. :) But doing so, I was reminded anew of how many wonderful people out there in our community have supported us. I still havent had the time to look through everything, and because everything was kind of a whirl back in September, there are so many I have not read or even seen before today. I would like to sit down and read them all some day soon (conveniently, they are in a book now!) but for the moment I would just like to sincerely thank every person who has had our family in their thoughts and prayers since September. It means the absolute most to our family. Every day that passes does nothing to change how sudden and painful this loss is but each day also brings more and more joy to our lives. We go through many challenges but we also seek out the good ever more intentionally. We miss Dylan very much and speak with him daily, hoping for the closeness we were privileged to have while he was down here on earth with us. This Christmas season is quickly approaching and while it is an exciting and happy time, it is also very bittersweet. Our family is still very welcome to usual Christmas cards or messages (I know some people may take that as insensitive but not in our case, we welcome the well wishes just as we have every year) but most of all, the continued prayers and thoughts for our family, especially in this family-orientated season are the best gift we can receive. Thank you again for all of the support you have given. Please take time this holiday season to appreciate every blessing and gift you have been given by God and continue to be the wonderful people we all strive to be. I wanted to share this song because it has given me some joy today and I believe that the small joys we gather up every day become the grand ones that light up our lives and encourage us to shine. Blessings to all! Happy December 16th :D m.youtube/watch?v=DiVWvrt6jKw
