So, for those interested, last week I received an email that my entry was accepted into the 2015 Tokyo Marathon to be held on 2/22/15. As they use a lottery based system and only take a small percentage of the applicants and I feel like the timing is right at this point in my life, I listened to the voice inside my head that said, just go for it! (while ignoring the other voice that said, are you crazy?) and clicked the submit payment button. When I received the automated reply that said ...your place in the Tokyo Marathon 2015 has been secured... it was beyond thrilling. The flight and the hotel in Shinjuku are booked and now I just need to spend the next 144 days until this marathon focused and determined to do my absolute best. It is an amazing course going all through the city streets of Tokyo and the 3 day runners expo looks nothing short of astounding as does the pageantry of the race itself.
