So, for those of you asking day 3 of what? We are in Caramany France. We is Karen, David, Dotti Drumm and Dan, Karens brother. This is day 4 and Dan and David are out tasting wine. I have cassoulet simmering on the stove and Dotti is chatting it up with the locals. The produce vendor was in the square this morning and the bread truck made its visit to the square (it comes every day but Monday). The travel was long and we crashed, zombie-like on Saturday evening. Sunday we found two wine collectives open, Dotti witnessed a car accident with blood and David failed to follow MY suggestions so we missed having lunch. Oh well. We are definitely not starving. The food is superb. I cooked mushroom risotto on Sunday. Yesterday, we took the little yellow train- thats what it is called- up the Pyrenees to Mont Louis, an ancient walled city. We hiked up the hill from the train station, had lunch, walked around, had cafe au lait and hiked back down the hill for the train back. After a stop at the grocery store, we had a no-cook, picnic style dinner. We manage to polish off an average of three bottles of wine each evening. Already have made some superb finds. Not sure if the boys are going back to stock up on the great ones or if they are gathering more or perhaps both. Will post some photos later. Have to attend to the cassoulet...
