So for those of youse reading the headlines, Clive and Al had a very weird press conference last night. If Clive Palmer has ever made a policy decision for more than half an hour then I havent seen it. We effectively have one of those elusive swing voters in charge of the senate. Ugh. Its inconsistent, we dont know what were going to get any minute of the day, and after everything hes a super-wealthy mining magnate who ignores THE LAW by pumping toxic waste into the reef. He will not be prosecuted for this because corruption and bureaucracy. Ugh. Basically, this press conference was the Australian Conservation Foundations attempt at lobbying the Fat C into changing his climate position, which has been swinging like a donkeys cock ever since he got voted in. Al Gore the Climate Bores presence was supposed to sway the C-Bum into turning a little greener. It worked a little bit. Hes still voting down the carbon tax, plus supporting a $0 (ie useless) ETS, but hes keeping some regulatory agencies and the 20% renewable target.... at least this morning he is. Who knows about later today. A lot of peeps are scratching their heads as to why Weird Al agreed to do stand next to that toxic pile of waste, but he can hold his head up high and say, The ACF made me do it!
