So friday I was invited at the rtl late nightshow with Umberto Tan who is the host of this populair talkshow. He just had won a Dutch tv award for best talkshow host and it was an honour to be guest at his table. I was invited because of Game of Thrones but is was for me an uppertunity to talk about H.E.M.A. I had a chance to explain all about our sport/Art and about our irritation with choreography in movies. 1.5 million people were watching that show. And so it was good publicity for the Art in general and for all the H.E.M.A clubs in Holland. Ties Kool. Oskar ter Mors and Nico Noort did a cool action pact demonstration with shoot the thrill from ACDC playing on the background and the boys nailed it! Awesome stuff. Some cool dagger work with spectaculair throws and some messer sparring in full gear. ( yeh the the available space prevented us from sparring with longsword, the only unforunate part in this adventure) afterwards people were waiting with posters of me to sign like I was some kind of moviestar which was funny but awkward. Next day I went out and I didnt have piece for 5 minutes as people were recognizing me. But I dont mind, for me it was important the get the sport out there to the general public. And so my plan in fact worked, which was getting involved with movies and use this to market H.E.M.A. I already got a lot emails of people that are interested and Im sure this event will lead to even more exposure for H.E.M.A. Holland.
