So funny watching the news tonight and hearing the government feel the curriculum is too busy and overwhelming for both students AND teachers. No shit Dick Tracy! Ask ANY single person remotely involved in the classroom… They obviously dont pay us enough money to be listened to! So, where does THAT leave the Australian Curriculum??? C2C etc etc… How about we start focussing on the kids and what type of human being they can be … NOT how high on a scale an assessment tasks puts them… sounds pretty hard, I know! I have two beautiful, intelligent, wonderful daughters who could easily go to uni and kick butt, but all I want for them right now is to be happy and well adjusted, live and smile and learn as they grow at their own pace. Wow, how is THAT for a concept from a teacher! I wonder how they will turn out, I have NO idea, but I know they will be ok, cause they have good hearts and a conscience. Something no current curriculum will ever teach them… Sorry, but you can be really academic and not have a clue and be very NON acedemic and highly enlightened. Measure THAT I say, measure THAT!
