So get this- Avery was tired this morning so I kept her home from preschool. I signed up to help out at Gavins lunch and as usual at these school functions, I brought Avery with me (I brought her to everything last year and she was always so well behaved). None of the teachers cared and actually told me I could bring her every time because they didnt even notice she was there. Well, today happened to be some event for the first graders for lunch so the very inflexible principal was signing everyone in. As soon as I walked in the door she stated, Im sorry- didnt you get the email? We cannot accommodate younger siblings due to safety issues.- assuming I was there for the 1st grade function. She offered to watch Avery for me & give her coloring books outside of the lunchroom (I guess its less dangerous out there?) but once she found out I wasnt there for the 1st grade, she kind of pulled back her offer (I guess because I was only helping out that that point). She allowed me to go in and say hi to Gavin. I get understand you need to have rules for elementary schools but cmon- this one is a little harsh. Make exceptions. I went in and told the 2 teachers who I help at lunch and they were appalled and told me to hide her in the back. They know what Averys like. Gavin was sad:(
