So given my recent posts regarding YuGiOh lately it should come as no surprise that I announce my retirement from the game. YuGiOh has been a significant part of my life the past 5 years and while the friendships Ive formed through this game will last forever, my active participation in this card game cannot. At some point, we all come to a point where we decide for our best interests if the task at hand is truly supporting us, and if not, how then to fix/work with it. Unfortunately, YuGiOh no longer offers that for me. I wont say it is solely the game. Ive found myself having a particularly difficult time enjoying many things right now, but YuGiOh being the most costly of these is a significant issue. I am not opposed to returning to the game, but I would want to see significant changes beforehand, and Im not sure this game will be able to adapt the way I, and many others would like. This game is someones business and income. To them, it is a paycheck and an investment in future paychecks. I can understand and respect that, however I cannot participate in a game that refuses to fix imbalances and just buries them under more imbalances to hope they even out. 98% of this entire game is unplayable, leaving a fraction of existing cards to ever be relevant. That percentage grows every year. I formed a Youtube channel to celebrate YuGiOh. Ive never had a particularly good answer for why I couldnt bring myself to make videos anymore until this moment. For me: There is nothing to celebrate anymore. Thank you to everyone for the amazing experience and PLEASE stay in touch as often as possible and feel free to message me, even if its about YuGiOh. I dont hate this game and Im not even angry, I realistically see a future in my life, but I dont see YuGiOh in it.
