So grateful I live where I do and have my power restored. It - TopicsExpress

So grateful I live where I do and have my power restored. It appears my old neighborhood of 41st and Yale was the worst hit of the storm. PSO is saying several DAYS to get all the power restored. Daylight reveals minor damage here at the apartments with things like the massive sign at the entry being blown down, lots of grills scattered all over the grounds. Somehow our table, chair and grill remained next to our area. I did have to go pick up our welcome mat from mid yard....about 40 ft from the door. Sounds like Memorial and Sheridan also had a lot of damage. Sure brings back memories of the ice storms from years ago. I hope this time our cities are better prepared to handle the special needs of everyone. And by cities I am including employers in with that. Your employees want to be at work but they also have their first responsibilities to the safety and health of their families. The heat and humidity over the next few days will be a real problem to deal with at all levels. And please, everyone, check on your neighbors from time to time. DO NOT assume that everyone is okay in this heat with no way to get cool.
