So grateful to have earned the opportunity, both biologically and functionally, to be called Baba. With honor comes responsibility. This means that someome looks to me for guidance, reflection, protection, provision AND big money (beyond the understood realms of provision) ....and all of that in sweet love. Her sibblings think she is spoiled, and that I baby her, and I could care less what anyone thinks. Fatherhood is not always easy, but it is a joy beyond anything that words could express. 12 years later, I remember that rainy, electric, thunderable morning like it was this morning, and I thank our Creator, the Lord of all the worlds, for the gift of Ina (mother of rains) Furaha (joy) Medhanet (she is medicine). Much raspect to her Mama Serenah who brought her through, Imara who was the first to show up when it was clear that the time had come, Umi Blackfoot who showed up next, and Mama Busara Whatley who was able to come and see the art she passed on being brought to fruition. She was the midwife, but didnt have to do much :) May her soul rest in Uhuru. Grateful to the extended family who has made a big difference in challenging times, and grateful to Ina for choosing us all to be present in this journey with. Love and honor to my Taurus twin Ina, who keeps on teaching me how to love, how to listen and how to lead. The last attribute is an extension of the second, which is an extension of the first.
