So guys, one of my good friends just released her first ever short film entitled Kirpa exploring the relationships between daughters and fathers in the south asian community, and it is one of the more impressive pieces Ive seen come from local talent. It subtly explores this relationship, especially when children choose to follow a more non-traditional route or career in their life (ie. Not a Doctor/Engineer/Lawyer). Theres a strong need for more arts/creative/entertainers within the south asian community, and I can personally relate to a lot and have seen a lot of the tensions within a south asian or immigrant family, dealing with these issues myself.
