So happy to make it through Friday and still a little energy! I have to share a funny story and it has to do with names. Every weekday (or pretty much) I go to Wendys and get a crispy chicken Caesar wrap and a medium sweet tea. I have gotten to know the woman at the window quite well over 3 years, but we never asked each other our name. She called me the Juke lady for a long time, then one day she called me Vickie. I dont know why, but she started saying Thanks Vickie, see you tomorrow. Every day...and every day I thought I should tell her my name isnt Vickie. But I didnt - I just kept on letting her call me Vickie and chuckling...well today she says, Hi Vickie, what do you do with Opal, take her somewhere and leave her? And I said, well, first off, my name is Robin...and I think you have me mixed up with someone else. I just didnt have the heart to correct you...she started laughing and I started laughing...and I thought maybe I have a twin somewhere and her name is Vickie. So I said, whats your name, Ive never asked...she said Georgia. Okay, I said, Georgia, I might just call you Alabama. And we laughed and I drove off... Funny how we can go through our days and somehow just dont say what needs to be said. For whatever reason, I just didnt want to correct Georgia...but I have grown to really like this lady. I hope you say what you need to say in your day...sometimes it doesnt come easy, but once its out there, it just might make things right. Moving to a big city where you dont know anyone is difficult, especially when you come from a little town where everybody knows your name. It used to bother me when people would call me by the wrong name, or stutter and just say, hey you...because they couldnt remember it. Just remember that God knows not only your name, He knows your heart, and owns your soul. So no matter how insignificant you may feel, or how small you are in a big sea of people, you matter to the One who made you.
