So have you ever seen those ads for ladies coveralls in the magazines like Mary Janes Farm or Organic Gardening, you know the ones where the women are gorgeous and their hair is done in perfect braids. Theres not a speck of dirt on them and the $10,000 horse that they are petting is well trained enough not to drool on their shoulder. You know the ads, right? Well, then theres me, a tad closer to reality if not the extreme. My overall straps are held up with twist ties and they refuse to stay on straight so one boob hangs out the side. Both knees are permanently grass stained and the rear end is caked with mud where I sat down to pet the piglets. My hair sticks up like Phyllis Diller and theres pieces of hay stuck in it. I have bruises on both hands where the short-starter slipped when I was shooting Black Powder on Sunday and theres another bruise on my shoulder where a goat went to bump another out of the way and hit me instead. I cant wear short sleeves out to dinner because I have man arms and shoulders and of course a farmer tan complete with boot marks so short skirts are WAY out of the question! Fingernails? Lets not even go there :) Yep thats us..........glamorous to the end. Wonder why they dont put us in those ads, instead? Ill take reality any old day :)
