So, having heard lots from Todd Stone, Minister of Transportation - TopicsExpress

So, having heard lots from Todd Stone, Minister of Transportation in BC, I wondered about who he represented & his background etc. In any talks about BC Ferries he came across to be as as bullying and arrogant - I wondered if some research could help me figure out why it seemed this way to me. So I looked up his details ... >> - elected MLA for Kamloops-South Thompson on May 14, 2013 - appointed Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure June 10, 2013. - current Deputy House Leader & serves as a member of the Priorities and Planning Committee & the Cabinet Committee on Strong Economy [read $$$ ] - before being elected to the BC Legislature, he was founder & CEO of a Kamloops-based software company - former Vice Chair of the Board of Governors of Thompson Rivers University - also served on the boards of the Thompson-Nicola-Cariboo United Way, the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce, Kamloops VenturesFund (VCC) Inc, ACETECH, and the Insurance Corporation of BC (ICBC) - Todd has also been an active contributor to the Friends of UCC University Society and the Friends of the Kamloops Airport. |- lived in Kamloops for 24 years - married for 13 years & have three daughters. So it stuck me that he is a smart, successful and educated young man and I think he just figures he is smarter and better equipped to judge what is best for the rest of us BC dumbasses ... That explains some of his attitude ... He just hasnt had life experience to teach him any lessons yet about smart .... Then I saw what he takes credit for in his Kamloops riding and what tax $$ he readily spends in his riding ...>>> this is a brief synopsis of his page from 2014 ... - Two sporting events held in Kamloops are receiving $2,000 in combined funding from the provincial government’s Hosting BC program to help stage the competitions - Boxing BC Association received $1,000 for the B.C. Bronze Gloves competition - Skate Canada – receiving $1,000 for the Super Series Autumn Leaves competition taking place October 17 – October 19, 2014 at Memorial Arena in Downtown Kamloops - >>>> All year round in Kamloops, a competition or tournament is held in our city, contributing millions of dollars to our hospitality and tourism sector every year. Our government through Hosting BC is proud to support this vital economic driver in Kamloops. Todd Stone - The Government of B.C. is assisting Kamloops and communities throughout the North and South Thompson with grants totaling over $1.77 million from the Strategic Community Investment Fund (SCIF), Terry Lake, MLA for Kamloops North-Thompson and Todd Stone, MLA for Kamloops-South Thompson announced ... - Kamloops-North Thompson MLA Terry Lake and Kamloops-South Thompson MLA Todd Stone congratulated the Kamloops Symphony Society and the Western Canada Theatre Company Society for receiving $181,350 in B.C. Arts Council grants ..... - A $5,000 grant from the B.C. Government will help Kamloops plan for a healthier community ,,,, And thats when I realized he doesnt care a whit about the coastal transportation system, the Gulf Islands, Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast etc - because he is from KAMLOOPS - a community quite handily served by an extensive transportation system including the Coquihalla Hwy which requires a huge amount of upkeep to keep running, esp all winter long, with tax payer $$ no less --- but not at the 70% user pay system that the coastal ferries are billed at. Please - someone advise me where my logic is wrong here. Maybe I am wrong about Mr Stone. By the way - I live in Abbotsford - not a ferry community and am retired but still work on a casual basis. But the BC ferry system is so destroyed I cant visit family on the island without taking out a small loan for a weekend trip! But hey 2-1/2 hrs would get me in Kamloops for a visit. Good grief! I think not!!
