So, here I sit, contemplating the news feed awash with hype, rationalizations, emotional pleas, zany challenges, suggestions from FB, extremely odd foreign film clips with every language i dont know (and dont care to have translated), oddball statuss of every type, Drama, aggravation, loss, celebration and even wildly off the wall plays on words and lifes lessons. then theres the spin, those news agencies and organizations that adjust a story to raise your hackles. everything from Michelle Obama being a man, to George Bush (both of them) being closet Nazis. and I wonder, how in the world does a rational somewhat well adjusted person wade through this? how do we avoid becoming infected with all the fake, fraudulent, excessive garbage that spews onto the screen, every second and all day long every day? I guess the answer to that lies within the mind of the receiver. W.C. Fields said,, theres a sucker born every minute. some of us are just more gullible than others. and then I wonder, where is the cut off? 8 years ago, people who claimed the Government was spying on citizens,, were regarded as tin hat wearing kooks. and now those people who regarded them that way?? they are the suckers. so at what point is a person allowed to explore the realm of a possible conspiracy? at what point do we just assume they are eccentric? and if they turn out to be right? how do we deal with it?
