So here I sit with a dilemma. First, let me say that all the photos I post are my actual photos. With the exception of cropping for the sizes requested for sale, adjusting the contrast, shadowing, highlighting a bit here and there, my photos are untouched. I do not photoshop any of my pictures. I do no more than would be accomplished in a darkroom when developing film. One reason I do not use Photoshop or another program of its caliber is because I dont know the first thing about them and would not know where to begin. But the other reason is because if I change the background or spruce up the focal point or or or or...then it would not be my photography anymore. Or would it??? I look at some of the photos that I KNOW have been photoshopped in one way or another and they are beautiful...and I do mean that. some are simply breathtaking. I love to see them and look at them but I also know in my heart of hearts that that photographer has repaired, enhanced, or even added (layered) photos together to get those beautiful end results. As a new photographer I am excited by some of the pictures I get. I feel blessed at the results of my little camera and the responses I get from others. So my dilemma is do I learn photoshop and make my photos to be like those amazing ones I see or do I stick with the photos I am getting on my own and take the large chance of not being able to capture the eyes of perspective buyers especially when they too are looking at the photoshopped ones? I do not use a lot of photos that I know if I took the time to learn a program such as photoshop I could make amazing...but do I? What are your thoughts on this???
