So here I sit..... with no furnace..... with a few space heaters running..... I am not sure if it is actually chilly in here or it is my perimenopause, cause ya know, one minute I am freezing, the next I am one hot mama! Everyone else is asleep, which is where I should be..... Im just trying to figure out what to do about getting a new furnace, cause I am so not spending over $700 to fix that crappy hunk of metal in the basement that has betrayed me for the last time. *sigh* Ya know, I thought that furnace and I had an understanding.... I would replace the duct work, I would be gentle when I whacked it with a hammer..... and yet it betrayed me..... Couldnt just be an ignition switch.... nooooooo, it had to go and be the blower motor (which is what I TOLD the tech on the phone before he even got here! Thanks for confirming I do know my head from my hinny!) I dont want to finance.... but with the temps dipping back below zero again..... I wonder how they will get it to fit through the basement door...... hmmmmm. Have any of you replaced a furnace recently? Any pointers or tips on what to look for/buy would be GREATLY appreciated.
